Since I live on an island, usually September to November we fall into Hurricane Season- the worse time of the year. The heat is absolutely unbelievable, you barely walk on the street after noon. This year Mr.Earl(hurricane) decided to visit us at category 3. It was probably the worse weekend I have experienced lately.
Hurricanes aren't supposed to be all that bad at category one and two, but by the time Earl reached us- it became a category three.
Little did we know, we would have to prepare for soo much.
My dad and I rushed to the grocery and stocked up on food, water and oh..candles =) (who would have ever thought we would Run OUT of candles. jeez.
It was 5 30 pm on Sunday night, the night BEFORE the Earl and we lost electricity at my house.
We headed to town, where my cousin Bindiya lives and stayed there the night.
I missed my mom..(she's in India) ..and went to bed as soon as I got to Bindiya's.
The next morning little did I know, we were going to wake up to no electricity at 7 am. ( I love to sleep, its one of the most precious things to me)
So here we are, no power no water...and a curfew!
As we watched the hurricane pass ... we also witnessed absolute flooding, wrecked trees and paradise didn't seem like paradise..anymore.
Here I am..on Wednesday at 10:45 pm writing about how we have no power and no water at home and all our cousins are in town.
Schools are cancelled for the week and we all resume on Monday. (the best part of having a hurricane)
As we await..to get back to reality and on track with our lives..here's one the most beautiful colors I have ever seen that the skies brought that day
Who would have thought Hurricanes can cause so much damage?
A Whole week without class
Curfews
but hey, I wouldn't trade this life for anything. It's beautiful :)
